This last weekend, Isaac and I went to Las Vegas to see Round 4 of the Formula D (Drift) Competition held at the Las Vegas Speedway! The competition was held at night, so it was beautiful outside! We had a blast looking at all the show cars, and finding all our favorite drivers at their sponsor tents. They were all so nice, they answered all of Isaac's questions ( since he's building a drift car of his own). During the last races between the top 16, the top 8, 4 etc. we saw a couple of cars get into minor accidents which disqualifies the driver. One of them was our favorite driver Chris Forsberg so that was a bummer. But on the bright side, our other favorite driver Daihero Yoshihara made it into 2nd place, and the 1st place guy drives a 1986 Toyota Corolla, which is the car Isaac is building! So it was cool to see that Isaac's project car really can go far in the Drift world and not just be an expensive POS in our garage! haha. After the race was over, we stayed in a comfy Super 8 for the night. The next day we hit Las Vegas Boulevard! First we had an AMAZING lunch at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the Paris hotel. With our table being right along the window, and the Bellagio hotel being right across the street, we got a perfect high view of the Bellagio water show in the front of their hotel! It's one of my favorite attractions in Vegas so I was super excited! After lunch, we just enjoyed walking through the Bellagio, the New York New York, Excalibur, and a few other hotels. And just because we CAN, we walked around with a beer in our hand! haha. You can't do that anywhere else! Before we hit the road back to reality, we had a small snack at our favorite pub, Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York New York.
It was nice to get out of the desert for a while. Here are some fun pics of our trip!
